As the winner of DBS Hong Kong Accelerator Program, FOMO Pay was also invited to showcase and pitch its business idea to a live audience of angel investors, venture capital firms, accelerators and DBS’ senior management on Demo Day.

On 18 November 2016, DBS HotSpot 2016 reached the final segment of its programme – Demo Day.

After a gruelling 3-month programme of training and workshops, the final 9 teams were chosen out of 250 applicants to enter the DBS HotSpot Pre-Accelerator. These teams were Cafebond, Flide, Foodrazor, HugProperty, Inncee, Pegaxis, Seedly, SushiVid and ToucanApp. Each team received a S$25,000 entrepreneur award for zero equity, and were given help from experienced mentors to further develop their product and refine their pitch and sales strategies. These teams also had an exclusive opportunity to pitch on Demo Day.

Held at DBS Asia X (DAX), Demo Day attracted top investors from the region, and was a great opportunity for FOMO Pay to network with fellow startups and peers from the FinTech industry. It was also the second time the FOMO Pay team was at DAX, which was officially launched just 4 days ago on 14 November 2016.

Located at Fusionopolis at One-North, the 16,000 sq ft area is designed for DBS to connect with startups and entrepreneurs. The space is fully equipped with project pods, co-working spaces, an auditorium and a café to stimulate conversation and fuel innovation. DBS aims to hold regular API hackathons at the space to better collaborate with startups, SMEs and social enterprises to deliver innovative solutions for customers.
