NETS announced on 18 June that all UOB & OCBC customers will be able to digitally store their ATM card onto NETSPay app, allowing them to use it as a mobile payment mode for convenient fast and secure transactions.
Together with DBS/POSB, the latest entrants in the NETS cashless system - OCBC & UOB - will allow more than 11 million NETS cardholder to make mobile payment through its NETSPay App.
The app will allow up to 10 ATM cards to be stored digitally and make payment with a tap on their mobile phone (through NFC) or by scanning the NETS QR, which have more than 110 000 acceptance point island wide of which more than half accepts NETS QR. NETSPay will also comes with the added advantage of not having to key in a PIN for transactions less than S$100.
In addition, NETSPay users will not only be limited to physical transactions. They will also be able to use NETSPay for online transactions as well as mobile applications that support NETSPay, such as AXS m-payment app and ecommerce websites like Qoo10 & NTUC Income.
Mr Jeffrey Goh, Group CEO, NETS Group, said, that he is confident that NETSPay will be increasingly popular and will help Singapore grow into a cashless nation, with transactions on NETSPay had already seen increase of 70 fold since Oct 2017 as customers see convenience and benefits of mobile payment at point-of-sale.
NETS also have other ongoing services in helping Singapore grow into a cashless nation, which includes its NETS QR - an integrated QR code payment which enable users to pay through NETSPay, DBS Paylah!, OCBC Pay Anyone & UOB Mighty! App, eNETS - NETS online payment system, NETS Flashpay - A store value card for transport and other small amount transactions. NETS is also a member of SG QR, a taskforce by MAS to promote Acceptance and Interoperability of QR payment in Singapore and aid Singapore in becoming a smart nation by going cashless.
